Through ritual and experience “Picnic” hopes to elevate the outdoor

Eating experience. With the necessary tools, some food and good People we hope to encourage the joy of eating outside and sharing. Through picnic we can come together as communities and friends to bond through the simple tradition of sharing food, company, conversation and outdoor spaces.

This kit was created through a series of prototypes that were tested and used during picnics at the beach and in back yard environments. Sometimes you do not need to venture far from home to find the perfect spot to picnic and other times its nice to go for a hike or a friendly bike ride along the Vancouver Sea wall. Either way this kit includes all the basics to create a space of Picnic ritual.

A key component to the success of this project was user testing and field studies. As well as mind mapping, and paper prototyping.
