Reflection of the book “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodges Burnet. Using pleats and layers the dress is meant to represent the theme of nurturing verses neglect. It has hidden features that play into the theme by having textures under neither the folds. The lace represents how the main character of the story grew up. The dress symbolizes a child and a young girl. I chose to make a dress because I think that clothing is very representational. A big part of taking care of someone is making sure that they have clothes on their back. The weaving acts as a wrap-around encompassing the whole story. The dress tells a story of time through texturing and layering.  The dress is fully lined and wearable.
